Since 1981, Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. has carried out a ministry to homeless persons. 40 years later, volunteers still work to provide fresh meals to those who don't have them.
Covid-19 AlertHere at Grate Patrol, we want to ensure that the risk of infection to those both giving and getting food is minimal. Volunteers will be required to wear masks whilst distributing food. Hand sanitizer will be available. Sharing cars is up to individual volunteer discretion. Meal prep still occurs every Friday, with volunteers wearing masks and gloves. The status of the 2021 winter shelter is TBD. Please email any questions.

Recent News!
Charlie Weiss, a longtime Grate Patroller and Scaffold Resource co-owner, with work partner Jeff Belfield, has again made the Grate Patrol beneficiary of their Annual Charity Golf Tournament. They and their many colleagues have been extremely generous to the Grate Patrol ministry over the years. This year’s check is for $33,400! All money exceeding food expenditures (about $20,000 per year) will be spent on clothing and outdoor equipment for our homeless friends. Thanks to all of Scaffold Resource for your magnanimous support.
